So, the New Designers exhibition was last week and I must say it was a big success for my colleagues and I. Had lots of people taking an interest in our work and mine even made it to the Creative Review Blog, thanks for that Eliza!

One More Thing...

Right, just one more thing related to the show and then I'll stop! Put together this landscape image of the show just after we had finished putting it up (hence all the tools and ladders and stuff). I stood in the middle with my little digital camera and turned around in a circle, snapping as I went. I'm no photographer so excuse the quality!

Show Off

Well, it's been a long hard road but my degree is over, just an exhibition in London to go! I managed to get a 1.0, so that was a nice surprise, although I did work my bum off for three years. Thought I'd share some snaps of the show, taken by Will Scobie, with anyone who's interested. If you can get to the New Designers exhibition in London I'll also have some work there! Enjoy!

How To Understand Women

Here's a quick sample of a piece from my final major project. The finished piece will be a series of 90 x 90 mm drawings and scrawls divided into a series of small folded booklets. I've entitled it Cynical Glimpses. Enjoy.

Just thought I'd upload a few snaps of the space I've been creating the recent pieces in. This documents the process I've been going through to get to the finished articles. As you can see I make a lot of mess. I feel a bit like a school kid cutting and pasting...Except I don't have to use safety scissors anymore.

Man Is Still Battling The Answering Machine

Just revised the cutout experiment from yesterday and I'm pleased with how it has turned out. I've decided to focus on a completely hand crafted approach to the project which, while being slightly more time consuming, should give the finished pieces an authenticity that I don't think I could achieve with a computer. Wish me luck!

Man Versus Answering Machine

A little experiment with cut out paper for my final major project. I'm doing a series of pieces which are observations about various aspects of everyday life. This one is themed around technology (a battle I had with the answering machine one day). So today I've been trying out a different approach to working and thinking about possibly having all my pieces displayed as originals as opposed to prints. I'm going to try out a few of the individual pieces in potatoshop first and see how it goes.
